Most hotel and club leaders have heard the AI pitch. The useful part is predicting problems and personalizing service from your data, not chatting with guests.

AI has flooded the inboxes of hotel and private club executives. For many, the experience has been underwhelming: a basic chatbot that frustrates guests more than it helps. In our view, the real value of AI in hospitality is not the ability to talk. It is the ability to predict and personalize.
Below are practical use cases we would explore with a property. These are directions, not a catalog of shipped features, and each one depends on the data you hold.
Cancellations are one of hospitality’s biggest uncertainties. Cloudbeds, a property management software vendor, reported in its 2026 State of Independent Hotels Report, built from 90 million bookings in 180 countries, that cancellation rates hit 21.8% for online travel agency bookings, more than double the 10.6% rate for direct bookings. That is one vendor’s data on independent hotels, but it shows why the question matters.
If a model could flag reservations at high risk of canceling, a property could act early:
The first step is the data, which usually sits in a property management system and a booking engine. We write about why those gaps matter in the real cost of a disconnected booking engine.
In a golf club or luxury resort, service should feel intuitive. An app can grow from a static list into something closer to a digital concierge. Two ideas we would consider:
Both depend on a shared guest record, which we cover in how data brings the personal touch back to hospitality.
AI can also look inward. If an app collects facility usage data and connects it to operations, maintenance and housekeeping can follow actual use instead of a fixed calendar.
There is some evidence for the principle. A U.S. Department of Energy operations and maintenance guide cites studies estimating that predictive maintenance can save 8% to 12% over a program of preventive maintenance alone. The guide was written for industrial and federal facilities, so we would not promise that figure for a hotel. It does support testing the idea on one system, such as pool equipment or HVAC, and measuring the result.
Many operators assume AI needs a complete infrastructure overhaul. In our experience, you can often extract valuable data from systems you already run and apply modern models on top. The work is in connecting and cleaning the data, not in rebuilding the stack.
Zenda is our hospitality platform for hotels, resorts, and golf. According to the Zenda site, it offers an AI concierge for conversational booking, one branded app for the stay, and integrations with property management, point of sale, golf, and access control systems. That makes it a practical base for applying AI to the data a property already holds.
Pick one use case and one data source, and make sure it ties to a number you care about, such as cancellation rate or maintenance hours. Our services include AI roadmaps and rapid prototyping, and you can see more in our work.
Most hospitality brands sit on data they do not know how to use. If you want to talk through where to start, get in touch.
Predicting which bookings may cancel, personalizing offers and service from guest history, and prioritizing maintenance and housekeeping by actual use. Each one starts from data the property already holds.

Usually not. Many properties can pull useful data from systems they already run and apply AI on top. The first job is getting that data into a clean, shared form.
Hotel and resort operations hold data that AI can turn into predictions and personalization. We help you identify where AI fits.
