Privacy Policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for https://shockoe.com. This privacy notice applies to information collected by this website and, as described in the Mobile Applications section, by mobile applications that Shockoe publishes under its own name. It will notify you of the following:

  • What information is collected from you through the website, including through cookies and analytics tools, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  • What choices are available to you, including how to change your cookie choice.
  • The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  • How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Contact Forms

To contact us through this website, you complete our contact form. We ask for your first name, last name, email address and a message. You can also add a phone number and choose the topics you are interested in. We record the page you submitted the form from. We use this information to reply to you about the services you asked about. Please do not include sensitive information, such as financial or health details, in your message.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We collect two kinds of information on this site. The first is what you give us directly, through the contact form, by email or by phone. The second is information about how you use the site, collected automatically through cookies and similar tools, as described in the Cookies section below. Our hosting provider also keeps a record of each page request, with the page address, the date and time, the type of browser, the page that linked to it and the country it came from. We use these records to find broken links and keep the site working. The records we keep do not include your IP address, and your cookie choice does not affect them. We will not sell or rent your information to anyone.

We use the information you give us to respond to you about the reason you contacted us. We use usage information to understand which pages and sources lead people to contact us, and to improve the site. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and handle your request, and only for those purposes: HubSpot, which stores contact form submissions and our contact records; Google, which provides site analytics; Microsoft, which provides session analytics through Clarity; Cloudflare, which checks that form submissions come from people and not automated software; Amazon Web Services, which hosts the site; and OpenStreetMap, which provides the map on our contact page and receives your IP address and browser details when the map loads.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about changes to this privacy policy.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep the details you send through the contact form for as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of our business conversations. We then delete them or remove anything that identifies you. This is usually 24 months after our last contact with you. Google Analytics keeps usage data for 14 months. Microsoft Clarity deletes session recordings after 30 days. We keep the site’s request records for 30 days. We may keep information longer where the law requires it or where we need it to resolve a dispute. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described in “Your Access to and Control Over Information.”

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, on this site. A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device. We use them to understand how visitors use the site and what leads them to contact us, and to remember your choices. When you first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

Here is what each one does:

  • Remembering your choice. We store your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage so we do not ask you again. We do this whether you accept or decline.
  • Site analytics (Google Analytics). Counts visits and shows which pages, links and sources lead people to contact us. It also records that someone started the contact form, sent it, or hit an error, without recording what you typed. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it waits for your choice. Elsewhere it uses cookies to recognize your browser across visits until you decline. If you decline, it does not store cookies on your device, though Google may still receive limited, non-identifying information about the visit.
  • Session analytics (Microsoft Clarity). Records how visitors move, click and scroll on our pages so we can find parts of the site that are confusing. Text you type into the contact form is masked. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it runs only if you accept. Elsewhere it runs until you decline.
  • Contact tracking (HubSpot). On the contact page only, it uses a cookie to connect your form submission to the pages you visited, so we know what led you to contact us. It loads only if you accept. If you accept and later decline, we tell HubSpot to stop tracking you for the rest of your visit.
  • Spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile). Runs on the contact form to confirm that a person, not software, is sending it. The form needs it to work, so your choice does not affect it. Cloudflare receives technical details about your browser to do this, and it may set its own cookies.

Google, Microsoft, HubSpot and Cloudflare each describe their own practices in their privacy policies.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, the site still works, but some features that rely on them, such as linking your form submission to the pages you visited, will not.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personal information.

Mobile Applications

This section applies to mobile applications that Shockoe publishes under its own name. Our products, such as Zenda, have their own privacy notices, and mobile applications we build for clients are covered by the privacy notice of the client that publishes them.

Our mobile applications may collect certain information from you automatically, including, without limitation, the type of mobile device, the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, and the location of your mobile device (provided that you give permission for the application of location services). You can stop the collection of information via your mobile device by uninstalling the mobile applications (or, to discontinue the location information only, you can adjust your permission settings in your mobile device.)

Privacy of Children

In an effort to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, we ask that children under the age of thirteen (13) not provide any personal information on this site. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the age of thirteen (13) and you believe that your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by emailing legal@shockoe.com or calling 844-734-7002:

  • See what data we have about you if any.
  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

You can change your cookie choice yourself at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

Additional Rights for Visitors in Europe and the United Kingdom

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Shockoe.com LLC, Richmond, Virginia, is responsible for your personal information. You have the right to ask us for access to your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent to cookies and similar tools at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before you withdrew it. To use any of these rights, email legal@shockoe.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We rely on your consent for analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity and HubSpot tracking. We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to you, keeping the site secure and preventing spam to handle your contact request and to run the Cloudflare spam check. We and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, our providers use recognized safeguards for these transfers.

Your U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. You will not be treated differently for using these rights. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email legal@shockoe.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it, and you may use an authorized agent. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the contact form sends your details over that connection. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in your browser’s address bar and “https” at the start of the page address.

Your contact request is stored in HubSpot, and we limit access to the people at Shockoe who need it to respond to you. Our service providers apply their own security measures to the information they hold for us.

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via telephone at 844-734-7002 or via email at legal@shockoe.com.
