St Andrews Links
The Home of Golf App

An app as elegant as the Old Course.
The challenge
St Andrews Links is a historic institution with a brand built on prestige. Its guests needed a mobile experience as elegant as the Old Course, one that served ticket holders, members, and visitors without disturbing the systems already running its courses.
The build
Shockoe designed and built the Home of Golf app as a true-to-brand companion for the whole day: Plan, Play, Participate. Guests sign in once, view and manage tee times, enter the ballot, carry digital tickets and guest points, follow GPS yardages and course maps, and find the Links' venues and services. A middleware layer connects the app to the tee sheet, ticketing, and guest records, so the operation behind the Home of Golf keeps running as it always has.
The result
Guests adopted it: 9,500+ downloads, 1,600+ accounts created, and 40,000+ GPS course-guide interactions. On-course guidance is now the most-used feature in the app, and the work continues.

The real cost of a disconnected booking engine
The guest is ready to book, and the system asks them to start over. Here is what that handoff costs, and where to fix it first.
Why Guests Abandon Your Booking Engine
Four friction points quietly cost properties revenue on every stay, and most of them show up before the guest ever reaches a payment field.
Redefining Luxury for Private Clubs and Resorts
Scale made the personal touch hard to deliver. A shared guest memory can bring it back without putting more screens between staff and guests.
