Lactanet
Dairy Herd Mobile App

Herd data in every farmer's pocket.
The challenge
Lactanet gives Canadian dairy farmers the data to run their herds, from milk recording and cow records to lab results. Its mobile app was on an aging platform, and farmers and advisors needed a faster, easier way to read their herd data from the barn or the road.
The build
A new React Native app for iOS and Android, replatformed and redesigned, in English and French. Farmers browse herd and cow profiles, milk production and test-day results, somatic cell counts, lab results and trend charts, and share herd data with their team and advisors. Over time Shockoe has added a feeding and management events flow, the Transition Management Index, a genetics tab and enterprise single sign-on. Platform upgrades, Android display fixes, regression testing and store submission keep the app current.
The result
The app gives dairy farmers herd data on their phones and keeps pace with each new OS release. A long-running partnership lets Lactanet add features, such as feeding events and transition management, without starting over.
