Research, UX design, accessibility guidelines, and design documentation

## A careers site designed around the candidate.

### The challenge

A leading transportation and logistics company felt its careers site was outdated and unattractive, which made it hard to compete for top talent. Interviews confirmed it: the site was overwhelming and hard to navigate, and its content was thin.

The company wanted more applications from students, military veterans and diverse candidates, a site that matched the recruiting experience of other large employers, and a site that met accessibility guidelines.

### The build

Shockoe started with research: competitive analysis, conversations with recent hires, and personas and user journeys for the audiences the company most wanted to reach. We then mapped the site, built wireframes and prototypes, and tested them with users before moving to responsive high-fidelity designs.

The designs cover pages for students, military veterans and diverse candidates, job search results and job details, the application process, and a talent community. Accessibility guidelines and annotated documentation went to the company's developers, designers and content creators, so the new experience was ready to build and could be implemented consistently.

## The result

Designed to surface relevant content faster, keep candidates on the site longer, and move more students, veterans and diverse candidates toward an application, with accessibility built in from the start. The documentation leaves the company's own teams ready to build.

## Project images

* *A job details page design on a desktop monitor, with the role title, a description, responsibilities, qualifications and Apply Now buttons.*
* *An application page design on a desktop monitor, on step four of four, where a candidate reviews attached documents and details.*
* *An upcoming recruiting events page design on a desktop monitor, with a monthly calendar and an event search bar.*
