Shockoe Recognized for Mobile Innovation with Two Emerging Media Awards

Shockoe stands out as a winner of two top international awards. 

Richmond, Va. – Today, Shockoe’s high caliber industry-leading work with Throne Labs and Dominion Energy was recognized with two prestigious awards at the 2021 Summit Emerging Media Award international competition. Shockoe’s consumer-facing mobile solution for Throne was one of only six Visionary award winners at the competition, the highest honor available, while its Dominion Energy Customer app earned a Leader award. Both awards reaffirm Shockoe’s mission to create impactful groundbreaking digital solutions.

In the highly competitive award competition, Shockoe’s work with Throne stood out above the rest. The mobile solution was designed to create a seamless brand experience for Throne users, allowing users to find, book, and open a Throne bathroom location. Alongside the Throne app, Shockoe’s Dominion Energy Outage app was recognized for its innovation. This mobile solution enables Dominion Energy customers to report outages in their area and receive updates regarding the status in real-time.

The 2021 Summit Emerging Media Award competition was highly competitive, with over 1,000 entries from 11 countries only seven percent of entries received award recognition. As a winner of a Visionary award Shockoe’s work scored incredibly well with judges across the judging categories of: method, innovation and information.
