Jim Hamilton is the CEO of Identity Ventures LLC, a global investment and consulting company.  Hamilton has assisted many companies with worldwide go-to-market planning and execution, capital raising, product development, and global sourcing initiatives.  One of those companies is the dynamic PowerMat Ltd, where Hamilton served as co-CEO and vice chairman of the board of directors.  PowerMat is the technology behind wireless charging in mobile phones.  Hamilton also serves as the Director of the Programs for Principled Entrepreneurship, and Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Dallas – College of Business, and an Adjunct Business Professor at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. 

With more than 25 years of experience in retail and technology, Hamilton has served as Corporate Vice President of Global Retail and Distribution for Motorola Mobility (a subsidiary of Google), Executive Vice President of Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, and Global Sourcing at RadioShack Corporation, President of Argoquest Inc. a holding company that raised and invested $100 million in start-up companies, CEO of Digital Shopping SA (Greece) and as a senior executive with Computer City, Montgomery Ward, and Circuit City.  

Hamilton is known as the “Father of Mass Computer Retailing,” as he co-founded and managed three of the top five computer retailers in the formative years of the computer industry.  Moreover, he was instrumental in launching, at retail, hundreds of brands like Apple, IBM, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Western Digital, Microsoft, and Intel to the mass market.

Hamilton has been recognized in the “International Who’s Who in Business Professionals” and served on the Consumer Technology Association’s Board of Industry Leaders, founders of the CES Show. 

Hamilton also serves as Territory Chair (North Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas) of the Boy Scouts of America.  He is an Eagle Scout with Two Palms and former President of the Longhorn Council BSA.  Hamilton also served on the Grapevine Colleyville School Board. 

Hamilton holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Dallas, a Masters’s Certification in Internet Marketing from the University of San Francisco, a Certification in Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School, a Certification in Social Entrepreneurship from Oxford University in the UK, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeastern Illinois University.

Dan’s career spans over 30 years as a sales & marketing professional and innovator focused on developing and introducing emerging technologies and products into new global markets. Since 2006, Dan played an early role in the development of Augmented Reality (AR) and was a key contributor to the development of the world’s first Android smartglasses which later became part of the Google Glass effort.  He continues to evangelize the use of AR/VR technologies and the metaverse helping clients realize the potential ROI when emerging technology is applied to real-world use cases.

Dan is currently the VP of Sales & Business Development for Shockoe.com, an agency specializing in mobile, AR applications and business development in the Metaverse.  He is a guest lecturer at the University of Dallas, MBA Entrepreneur program.
